On Soulmates

Wikipedia defines Soulmate as:

Soulmate (or soul mate) is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy, sexuality, and/or compatibility.

I used to think that a soulmate was one who you were intimately joined in marriage for the rest of your life. The ONE your soul searches for and conects with. I now see that a person can have more than one soulmate. They come in many forms. Some soulmates call you "friend" others call you "wife" and even "mother". I am lucky because I have my girls whom I will forever be connected to. My soul senses theirs, kind of like an umbilical cord. The cord that supports life was severed at birth but the cord that connects our souls will be there forever and nothing can sever it.

Then I have my Husband. Known as my husband, my lover, the father of my children and my friend. He is the person whom I will be romantically linked for the rest of my life. He is the other half of my soul or my twin flame. Not that he is the same as me but that he and I compliment each other and bring out the best and worst in the other. I cannot immagine my life without him and his neverending love and support.

And lastly (buy certainly not the least!) I have my soul "sisters" . These are the 2 women in my life that while not connected by DNA, I'd take a bullet for without a second thought. They have seen me at my best and worst and everything in between. Gods I love these ladies to death. They are the friends that you make and NEVER loose. Yes, we have ups and downs. There have been disagreements and a few all out fights, rolled eyes and hurt feelings. The one thing that is always there is the friendship. The connection with the soul will never die. There are other friends that I associate with but I think I may never know then as well or as intimately as I do my "sisters". But that is ok. Not everyone can be a soulmate. You have to have just friends too. They are the ones that are put on your life path to teach you things about life and yourself. I am very lucky to have these people in my life and I thank the Gods that I can call these people my Soulmates!!
